The positive results are mainly reflected in four aspects. At present, its scale is nearly 8.8 times that of 2010 and nearly 3.9 times that of 2015.

Second, despite the severe impact of the new crown pneumonia epidemic since 2020, Vietnam’s foreign exchange reserves have continued to increase and have increased significantly.

Third, at present, Vietnam’s foreign exchange reserves are ranked high (5th in Southeast Asia, 14th in Asia and 24th in the world), higher than the total GDP and much higher than the per capita GDP.

Fourth, before 2018, Vietnam’s foreign exchange reserves are still at a relatively low level compared with the number of months of imports (1.8 months in 2010, 2.1 months in 2015, and 2.8 months in 2018), from 2019 onwards, the number It has been more than 3 months (3.7 months in 2019, 4.3 months in 2020, and 3.8 months in 2021), which means that Vietnam has crossed the safety line in terms of payment for foreign trade relations.
